Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong autoimmune condition causing the destruction of the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. This means the body can’t control blood sugar (glucose) on its own. Without management of high blood glucose levels, over time it can lead to serious and life-threatening health complications. Did you know that the school bus is one of the safest vehicles on the road? Less than 1% of all traffic fatalities involve children on school transportation vehicles. However, children are more at risk when approaching or leaving a school bus. It’s important for all drivers, as well as parents and students, to understand school bus safety. That's the focus of National School Bus Safety Week, an active and evolving public education program urging parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.

Bullying prevention starts at home. 🏡 Parents and families can help by talking openly about bullying, listening to children, and working together with schools. This month, let’s build stronger connections to support our students, because no one should face bullying alone. 💙 #BullyingPreventionMonth

👩🎓👨🎓 Our students are leaders in creating safe, inclusive schools. Standing up, speaking out, and supporting one another are all ways they can help stop bullying. This October, let’s empower our students to be #BullyingPreventionMonth

Kindness is powerful. 🌟 A simple act of kindness can change someone’s whole day—and help prevent bullying before it starts. This month, let’s challenge ourselves to choose kindness every day.
